when I turn on the PC, the monitor says there’s no signal

My PC and monitor were turning on normally, then from one day to the next this error started happening: the monitor light comes on and 3 seconds later a message appears saying there’s no signal at all, even though the PC is on, the monitor’s HDMI cable is correctly plugged into the graphics card, and the power cable is also plugged into the outlet.

The graphics card also lights up, the fans spin. Anyway, I don’t know what might be happening and I have no idea if something burned out. What kind of test could I do in this situation? Could it be the power supply?

The first thing I’d do is test the video card: instead of plugging the cable into the video card, plug it directly into the motherboard. If you get video, then there’s something wrong with the video card. If it still says there’s no signal even with the cable connected to the motherboard, it might be a problem with the monitor, and then you’d really need to take it to a repair shop.

Let me know what happens, and depending on the result I’ll guide you to test other things.
