At home I don’t have a surge protector or a UPS. And something I’ve noticed recently is: when I plug the PC into the outlet for the first time, the power supply makes a popping/clicking sound and then stops. I’d like to know if this is normal.
Before I leave for work I always unplug the PC, because here in my city there are a lot of lightning strikes and we’ve already lost a lot of stuff because of lightning.
When I get home, I plug it in and right then I hear the click, but it stops right away.
Is this a problem with the power supply, or is it just my electrical power?
Just to add: the other things I have at home like the fridge, TV, etc. don’t make these popping sounds. When I touch the case, I don’t feel any shocks.
My power supply is 650 W, it has that “Gold” rating sticker, I bought it from Pichau.
