Let’s see… I played a PS2 game that at the time wasn’t translated, I don’t remember if it was in English or in Mandarin… But the game was really complex for that time, breaking away from the standard.
The game was like this: you started on an island, your character walked around with a mystical spear… at first the game was very focused on dialogue and didn’t have many fights. To leave the island you had to talk to several people (I figured that out by trial and error, since I was really young and couldn’t read what they were saying). After leaving the island you had your first fight in a cave. Detail: the move you learned was to spin the spear, then a magic circle would appear and you had to hit the middle of the circle with the spear to deal more damage… You did that when the boss was dizzy.
After that stage, you went to a bigger city; actually there were several cities where again you had lots of dialogues and did some quests.
The game was made up of several races and various spells… I remember sometimes playing with other characters, but that was during certain missions… and you would be rescuing your team, something like that… An important detail: there was a small being that went into something like a burrow, and inside that burrow he (the small being) would have a dialogue with another being of the same species or with a spider… And that’s all I can remember…
