What’s going on with Game Vicio? Are they shutting down? Is it over? No more news, comments are locked

Out of nowhere I noticed they’re closing comments on some posts. They haven’t posted any news for days. There used to be a link to the Discord, but that seems to have disappeared too. They also used to have a brand logo and link in the footer, but that’s been removed as well.

In the comments, what you see the most now are links to other (new) gaming blogs. Lots of people are complaining that they got rid of all the moderators, that the same writers aren’t there anymore. Did it change owners?

Why is nobody saying anything about what’s going on?

Game Vicio is the only games-focused site I follow. They even used to have a forum and a mini social network, but they shut those down too. The site has been around since the early 2000s. I was a kid when I started following it.

What’s going on there? I don’t think they even had many writers left lately.

I hope they come back soon. It would be a big loss for the Brazilian gaming community. It’s the only place where I don’t see everything made by AI or focused more on hardware than on games.

As far as I know, the site was sold and they got rid of all the writers, leaving only one. The number of daily news posts has also dropped a lot, to just two pieces of news per day.

I think people are really going to miss Coca. His articles generated a lot of comments.

I saw that three blogs have been launched in total: pxngames, by the former moderators; gamelivre, by former users; and pixelario as well, by another former user of the site.

I’ve been taking a look and they’re all very well‑made blogs.

I wish success to all of them.

At least they started posting again. I just don’t know if they really are AI-generated news like people are complaining about. But I don’t really care about that. The important thing is to stay informed.
