I was noticing this today. My boyfriend installed one of those brackets that makes the graphics card sit sideways inside the case. I don’t know if he changed something or forgot to plug something in, but now I’ve noticed that the fans only turn on if I open a game. If I stay on the desktop or do anything that isn’t gaming, the fans don’t spin. Even the LEDs on it stay off, except for the brand LED, “Radeon”.
I’m asking here because I got worried. I’m really afraid my graphics card will overheat because I wouldn’t even have the money to buy another one.
What I find really strange is that the cooler on my Ryzen processor runs all the time, without stopping. Why would it be different with the graphics card?
