PC became very slow after changing the processor

I changed my CPU yesterday. Before, I had a Ryzen 5 3600 and now I bought a 550x3D. I should be seeing a good difference in FPS since my old CPU was bottlenecking my graphics card, a 3090. What could I still be missing? The processor is new. I installed it correctly. There aren’t any bent pins. The thermal paste (from Corsair) was applied as a pea-sized dot, not too much. The CPU isn’t overheating.

The biggest problem is that when I open GTA V, it stays at a maximum of 20 to 30 FPS, whereas before it even went over 100 with all the settings on max.

You didn’t mention having updated the BIOS?

Before changing the processor, it’s always recommended to update the BIOS version using the old processor. Once that’s done, you swap the processor.

If you have any problems, there’s a little button on the back of your case that you can use to reset the BIOS to the factory version and, from there, do the update again.
