I have several game servers that are pretty big, from a group I set up. It includes MTA, SAMP, FiveM, Minecraft servers and a few others.
Up until now everything was running fine. But I’ve been noticing some CPU spikes that suddenly hit 100% out of nowhere. I think there’s something not “clean” on this node and that I’m dealing with the famous “overselling”.
However, I found a pretty nice deal on LowEndTalk, a 1‑year promo for 60 dollars with a 9950X3D. Way better than the VPS I was using and at least I won’t have to deal with shared hardware.
The problem is that I’ve never had a dedicated server before. People told me that if anything goes wrong, I’ll be the one responsible for fixing it. Is that true?
