Is This the End of Custom Cities in FiveM?
In the beginning, everything was perfect. The cities and their developers had total freedom to do anything. Custom cars with brands. Buildings with real-world brands, the city logo and everything else.
But that only lasted until they bought FiveM in August 2023.
And it didn’t take long before they announced that the gravy train was over. They made a big announcement on the official Rockstar Games page.
To sum it up, they forbid you from making money with your custom server.
And that was just the beginning. Soon they’ll charge a monthly subscription for you to be able to play FiveM. You’ll have to buy cars, houses and VIPs directly from them. And I wouldn’t be surprised if city owners have to pay even more than just the Patreon key.
All of this is only a matter of time.
