At the rate things are going, it won’t be long before they start putting ads in games

You can mark my words on this.

Back in my day, I remember buying the physical version of Spider-Man, and it came with 2 CDs. One was the movie and the other was the game. With other games, you’d always get a manual, a map of the game, etc. That was the good stuff.

Nowadays, no. Now there’s not even a proper physical version anymore. Did you see GTA 6? It only comes as a box with a code for you to download the game. That’s just ridiculous. But I think the worst is still to come, and I really think they’re going to put ads in the middle of your gameplay. I wouldn’t be surprised if, in the next few years, after 1 or 2 hours of playing, mandatory ads start popping up.

You don’t really own anything anymore. That’s where we’ve ended up.

They’ve already put the idea on the table. They want you to watch ads while your game loads.

It’s sad that it’s come to this. As if TV ads all day weren’t enough, plus the ones on the internet, the flyers in the street. Now they’re even going to be in video games. The one place where you had peace. Your one place of comfort, of fun.
