Last year I had to update because I needed to swap my processor and I wasn’t getting any video. So I clicked that little button on the back of the motherboard, went to the motherboard manufacturer’s website using another PC, put it on a USB drive, booted it up, and it started updating. And of course, I made sure it wasn’t raining, because I’ve made that mistake before.
But now I want to know: if I’m not changing the processor or anything, do I still need to keep updating the BIOS? I saw that two new versions have already come out on my motherboard manufacturer’s website. But I didn’t understand whether I’d gain anything by updating. Not to mention the fact that updating is kind of risky, right?
Do you guys update your BIOS frequently, or only when you change the processor or some other computer part?
