This poster and trailer for the movie “I Am Legend 2: Patient Zero” have been circulating a lot on the internet these days.
But unfortunately it’s fake. They’re nothing more than manipulated images. Though it would be great if it were true, right?

The movie is indeed a project in development, since 2012. The latest news about the sequel came out in 2022.
I’d really love to see Will Smith again in an end‑of‑the‑world setting, together with his dog, protecting the world and all that… but unfortunately it’s not going to happen. After all, Neville dies at the end. As described in the book, he was the danger to everyone in the new society that emerged after the virus.
Instead of a sequel, I think it would be a good idea to show how it all began, since the movie doesn’t show much. Like: who was the first infected person, etc. And in that case, Neville would still be alive.
They even tested an alternate ending, but unfortunately it was rejected.
