The worst part is that I know my email and password very well. But apparently I had enabled 2-factor login using that Google password manager, Google Authenticator if I’m not mistaken. I didn’t even remember ever installing it. I tried installing it and logging in with the only Google account I use, but there’s nothing saved there. The app is completely empty.
Worst of all, Discord only gives me two login options: even though I know my email and password, it only lets me either enter the Authenticator code or log in using a backup code I was supposedly supposed to have saved. It doesn’t give me the option to recover via email, phone number, answering a question, or anything like that.
Is this normal? Am I really going to lose my account? It was the only and oldest account I had there. I had a lot of friends I’d accumulated over the years in different games. Several servers that I don’t think I’ll ever find again. I even tried searching for some of them on Google, but the invite already showed as invalid or expired.
Is there anything else I can do to recover my account, or is it better to just forget it and create a new one?
