I recently bought a gaming laptop to play some of today’s games. I was told too late that the graphics card it came with isn’t that good and isn’t that new anymore. It’s an RTX 4050. I’ve been testing it for a few days now with demanding games like Call of Duty Black Ops 6, and what happens is that in less than 5 minutes of gameplay, the card already starts to heat up and I think that’s abnormal, because after 5 minutes it’s already at 80 degrees. So far I haven’t been able to play for very long. The PC doesn’t shut down or restart by itself or anything like that, but I turn it off and let it cool down just to be safe.
I already tried putting my fan on top of it while I play, but that didn’t help either.
Another problem I noticed is that I think there’s a bottleneck somewhere, because none of my games use more than 50% of the GPU. Normally it should be using more, right? Why is my CPU usage higher in my case? Is there anything I can do to improve this? I’ve already followed several tips to optimize games on Windows 11.
