Yeah. Cloud gaming was a great alternative for those who didn’t want to spend a lot on a full gaming setup. Thanks to it, you can play almost all the latest games through a monthly subscription, whether on Geforce Now, Luna, Shadow, among many others.
The news is that now you can rent a physical gaming setup and pay every month. That’s what HP is now offering its customers: for a modest subscription of 50 to 130 dollars per month, they give you a high-end gaming PC. With an RTX 5080 (Core Ultra 9, 32 GB of RAM) for the most expensive plan or an RTX 4050 (Ryzen 7, 16 GB of RAM) for the cheapest.
This service is being tested in the US, but attention!! The PC isn’t yours, so there are some rules you must follow, such as not opening the PC to make upgrades, not reselling it, not using the PC to do illegal things like downloading pirated games, excessive mining, among other pretty obvious things.
Remember that the plan subscription obliges you to keep the PC and pay monthly for 1 year.
Anyway, I actually think this is pretty good. But you have to see what exactly happens if any part breaks, with the PC in your house, etc.
I still prefer to just buy a PC. I already have too many things rented. Car, cell phone, my house, that’s enough!
And you, what’s your opinion about this?
