What happened to this game? On several gaming forums I saw people talking about the hype around it, that it had I don’t know how many thousand people playing and whatever else… out of nowhere a bunch of niche forums dedicated only to Palworld popped up, everyone playing, buying, streaming it, and now nothing.
It wasn’t the first game this year that this happened to, huh.
Now I just want to see the mega flop of GTA 6 and that Inzoi there…
A new failure is imminent.
The game is still going strong; it got a big update and a lot of people came back to play. It’s still in early access and a lot more is going to be added.
It’s the cycle of life: everything is born, grows, and “dies.” Not that Palworld died; it’s still doing very well nowadays and it’s coming to PS5, and the CEO of the developer himself said he knew this would happen and doesn’t really care about it. This is healthy, because then they can focus on other games instead of staying constantly focused for years and years on a single game. Nobody wants another GTA 5 Online or Fortnite. The game blew up with millions of players and now not so much, and that’s fine.
The game didn’t flop; the players just went to play other things, and when there are big updates and when version 1.0 launches, a lot of people will come back and then leave again. That’s how it should be, but many people think this is a bad thing instead of a new opportunity for them to create another amazing game.
