A new report released by the channel Moore’s Law Is Dead (MLID), a respected insider who correctly predicted information about the PlayStation 5, has brought updated details about the highly anticipated PlayStation 6 and expectations for the next generation.
According to the insider, Sony plans to launch the PS6 at the end of 2027. In case of delays, the console should not be released later than early 2028, contradicting the previously estimated 2029 launch window.
It appears that Sony expects the PlayStation 6 to run games in 4K at 120 FPS smoothly, something the PlayStation 5 was unable to deliver. The report also highlights the possibility of including ray tracing with an average speed up to six times faster compared to the PS5 PRO.
However, it is important to remember that there is an ongoing global RAM shortage, which has led Sony and Microsoft to discuss potential delays considering component prices. Still, the insider assures that no postponement has been confirmed and that production remains on schedule.
So far, there are only rumors about the expected launch of the PS6. However, titles such as Gran Turismo 8, The Witcher 4 and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet are considered future releases for the PlayStation 6 generation.
