I have a gaming PC that’s actually pretty good, but I’d like to get the most out of its hardware. I’ve never really messed with video settings in games, but now I want to understand better what each option does and why I should turn some of them on or off.
The options I see the most are V-Sync which, if I’m not mistaken, locks the FPS at 60. Then there are the texture options: the lower you set them, the uglier the game gets and the more FPS you gain. But what about the other settings?
Ray tracing, MSAA, NVIDIA Reflex, FXAA, G-Sync… I have no idea how these things work or how I should configure them.
