What is the most optimized operating system for gaming?

I’ve seen a lot of machines coming with Linux preinstalled. And I see many gamers who chose to stay on Windows 10. But what’s the point of that? Is Windows 11 really that bad for games?

I installed it recently and saw there’s a “gaming” option during setup. Does that mean it has a configuration to optimize for gamers then?

And why is there so much hype around Linux for gaming in 2025? As far as I know, Steam and most games don’t even run on Linux?

Or am I the one who’s wrong?

Windows 11 works much better on newer PCs. But Windows 10 reaches the end of update support this year, so if you want to play new releases and take advantage of optimizations, it’s better to stay on 11.

I really don’t think LoL works on Linux.

PCs sold with Linux most of the time are just to make them cheaper.

You can also install both systems together on the PC with dual boot.
