How much longer will the gif last?

After AVIF, APNG, and others that do it better and with more optimized file sizes? Anything in .gif is more than 5 MB and it’s very hard to optimize.

How long until it disappears just like .jpg and .PNG after the emergence of .webp?

End of the gif on the internet

The good thing about .gif is its practicality. Several services have already been using it for years. Giphy, Tenor (here on the forum), etc. I really doubt any of them would want to convert that much material.
