According to a rumor from Kepler_L2, the new Xbox, codenamed Helix, will ship more powerful than the PS6 at launch, which is expected for 2027. Both have already completed the tape-out stage.
Xbox Helix is said to have 56 TFLOPS, while the PS6 will have “only” 40 TFLOPS. In other words: 40% more performance for the Xbox.
According to information that still hasn’t been officially confirmed, Xbox Helix will cost $1,000, while the PS6 will be $699.
It’s worth remembering that this situation of the Xbox being more powerful than the PlayStation has already happened in previous generations. For example, the Xbox One was more powerful than the PlayStation 4. Even so, the PlayStation 4 still ended up selling more.
The same thing happened again with the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5. The Xbox Series X was more powerful, but once again, the PlayStation 5 ended up outselling its competitor.
