I don’t watch TV, and today while scrolling through some Instagram feeds, I saw that some people want to ban Discord in Brazil because it supposedly attracts a lot of people with bad intentions.
Well, I kind of get that. I’ve really seen a lot of horrible things happen on Discord. We do need to protect our population and so on. But is that really going to solve the problem? If they ban Discord, are the ill‑intentioned people going to change their ways and stop committing their crimes?
Won’t they just move to another chat system instead? Like WhatsApp, Telegram…?
Although honestly, they could just get rid of those platforms too so we could go back to the golden age of forums. Without all this AI stuff, unmoderated networks, total no man’s land.
