Capcom responds to Resident Evil Requiem leaks and warns fans

With only a few days left until the launch of Resident Evil Requiem, the long-awaited sequel has ended up at the center of a new controversy. The new chapter of the franchise had images, campaign segments, and important story details leaked on social media after players managed to get early access to physical copies of the game.

With the repercussion, Capcom made an official statement and confirmed that the leaked materials are real. In a statement published on its official social channels, the company asked fans not to share the content and stressed that it is already taking legal measures to contain the leaks.

According to the developer, the goal is to preserve the day-one experience for all players. See the message released:

“Please do not post or share pre-release leaks and spoilers for Resident Evil Requiem. We really want everyone to enjoy the game’s story and experience to the fullest. Our legal department will continue issuing takedown and deletion notices to preserve your day-one experience. There’s not long to go until the game is released, so we’re looking forward to seeing all your reactions after launch!”

The release of Resident Evil Requiem is confirmed for February 27, 2026, with versions for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
