Is it very expensive? What do I need? My dream is to have my own FiveM city.

Expensive it is not. You can even open it on localhost and invite people to join your city, if you have knowledge about ports and all that.

Otherwise, any basic VPS under 10 dollars a month is good enough to start with.

I recommend looking for tutorials and videos on the internet before jumping in as well. But there’s nothing complicated about it.

You’ll open the VPS ports through an executable.

The database is done with MariaDB.

Your server stays online thanks to XAMPP or other software of your choice, but XAMPP is the most practical because it already comes with everything you need.

You already start by getting a free FiveM base. Don’t buy any of those paid ones because it’s not worth it.

After that, your mandatory costs will be:

  • Keymaster (Patreon key)
  • VPS
  • FiveM phone
    After that, everything else is just configuration.
