I bought my PS5 last year, brand new, still in the box. It had never shown any kind of defect until now. It always ran everything smoothly, quietly — you know, Sony and all. The problem is that this morning I decided to change some video settings in GTA V; if I’m not mistaken, I just turned on ray tracing. A few minutes later, out of nowhere, the PS5 turned off. For no apparent reason. It didn’t happen again afterward, but I already want to figure out what could be causing it, since it’s still under warranty.
The weirdest part is that there’s no way to turn it back on using the button. I have to unplug it from the outlet, plug it back in, and then press the power button.
P.S.: It happens with FIFA 25 and FC 24, and probably with any hardware-hungry game. Could this be a latent defect in some specific version or batch? No warning appears on the screen, it just switches off.
What do you think this could be?
