I bought a new CPU for my setup today because the old one (Ryzen 3200G) was bottlenecking my new graphics card (I went from a 1660 Super to an RX 6700 XT). I went with a 5800X that was on sale, but it came without a stock cooler. For now, I’ve installed the cooler from my old processor. I haven’t had the nerve to test it yet. On YouTube I saw people saying it’s a CPU that runs really hot and that it’s better to undervolt it:
Como eu abaixei a temperatura do Ryzen 7 5800X
Now I’d like to know: should I undervolt it, keep using the old cooler, or leave the CPU as it is, not touch anything and go straight to a water cooler? And what size would I need, 240 or 360 mm?
And while we’re at it, does the brand of thermal paste make any difference in this situation?
