Capcom responds to Resident Evil Requiem leaks and warns fans

With just a few days to go before the release of Resident Evil Requiem, the long-awaited sequel has ended up at the center of a new controversy. The new chapter in the franchise had images, campaign segments, and important story details leaked on social media after players managed to get early access to physical copies of the game.

With the repercussion, Capcom made an official statement and confirmed that the leaked materials are real. In a message posted on its official social channels, the company asked fans not to share the content and stressed that it is already taking legal measures to contain the leaks.

According to the developer, the goal is to preserve the day-one experience for all players. See the message released:

“Please do not post or share pre-release leaks and spoilers for Resident Evil Requiem. We very much want everyone to enjoy the story and the game experience to the fullest. Our legal department will continue issuing takedown and deletion notices to preserve your day-one experience. There’s not long to go before the game is out, so we’re looking forward to seeing all your reactions after launch!”
