How to choose a good monitor for gaming?

I don’t understand anything about technology. I have no idea what 1080, 1080p, 4K, Full HD, HD are. What is the difference between them? I also saw that there is the Hz parameter. What does that change and what would be the best of the best I could have to play realistic games like DayZ, GTA V and GTA 6 that’s coming out?

I want the best equipment possible with the best image quality.

This is the number of pixels in the image
HD = 720p
FHD = 1080p
QHD or 2K = 1440p
4K = 2160p

Hz is the image refresh rate

QHD and +165Hz is the standard for games nowadays

The most popular ones are LG UltraGear or Samsung Odyssey
