thinking about enrolling in some course

I took a one-year sabbatical from work and wanted to take the opportunity to try to learn something so I won’t need to work in person anymore. The problem is that I don’t have any knowledge at all.

I’d like something in the IT field. I like computers. Is there any programming language that isn’t too complicated and is easy for beginners in the field? I always hear about Python and Ruby. Any recommendations?
