CD Projekt Red has revealed new details about The Witcher 4, raising expectations for the next game in the franchise. During episode 26 of the AnsweRED podcast, published on the studio’s official YouTube channel, developers from the studio talked about some of the new features present in the open-world RPG.
Among the new features, it was confirmed that the game will finally have a dedicated jump button, a missing feature that was felt by many fans in the previous title. The addition of underwater swimming was also confirmed, as well as a greater variety of NPCs compared to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. According to the team, the open world of The Witcher 4 will be much more interactive than that of its predecessor.
In terms of animations, the sequel will feature more than 80 different options to give more realism to the player’s experience, with motion capture carried out using what the developers describe as “cutting-edge technology.” According to the developer, this is an important element to complement the emotional expressiveness of Ciri, the new protagonist of the title.
In gameplay, the character will also be able to cast spells while moving, without needing to interrupt an action to conjure magic. Without a doubt, this is a very positive aspect and one that has been well received by the public.
Finally, another piece of good news was recently announced: the original composer of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been confirmed for the project. Now, it seems that the sequel has everything it needs to be as epic as its predecessor.
